Flight Attendants have been mired in contract negotiations for more than 21 months. Despite more than 100 bargaining sessions and 11 consecutive days of bargaining in late January, American Airlines management refuses to recognize the sacrifices Flight Attendants have made.
In 2003, when American Airlines found itself in financial trouble, Flight Attendants helped bail them out by providing $340 million annually in cost savings. Yet in these contract talks American Airlines management continues to ask for more concessions from Flight Attendants.
Management claims they can’t afford pay increases, yet they find new money for a billion dollar offer to bail out Japan Airlines and reward their executives with excessive bonuses year after year. They refuse to invest in their most important asset, their front line employees.
On February 27, the union and management will hold five days of "lockdown" contract talks. Show your support for American Airlines Flight Attendants to achieve an agreement that recognizes their sacrifices.
